What Can I Give My Dog For Tooth Pain?
Animals & Nature1 min ago
I am looking to go on holiday in either the first week of July or maybe 2nd or 3rd week of September (this is to avoid kids and summer holidays).
I am going with my wife and we are looking for somewhere cheap (self catering would be fine).
We like a quite life, ideally with a variety of restaurants nearby. No nearby clubs etc. A pool is a neccisity but a beach is not. We like warm - hot temperatures (70s to low 100s).
We don't mind flying from any airport but Stanstead would probably be most convenient. Gatwick will be okay as we will stay in a hotel night before and get parking including.
Ideally less than 300 each.
We have been to north coast of Corfu (Achiravi) and loved in. Went to Zante and hated it. Any ideas on where to go that would meet the above criteria?
Cheers

Also its about 400m away from Turkey so not only do you have fantastic scenery you can do some great day trips. I think you can only fly from Gatwick but it was very cheap (160 each self catering for 1 week)
Obviously you have been to Greece already so I doublt you will get any nasty surprises, have a great time anyway!
The loveliest Greek Island in my opinion is Skopelos (you would fly to Skiathos and get a boat to the island). It's quiet, untouched, green (like Corfu)and utterly beautiful. Not a McDonalds on the whole island! Lots of Italians and Swedes go there (not a huge amount of Brits). The neighbouring Skiathos is fantastic too though the town, Skiathos Town, is quite busy (not obnoxiously so) so I wouldn't stay there but maybe further along towards Troulos. It's main beach Koukounaries is known as the most beautiful in Greece. I've been to both on seperate holidays but I think if I did it again I might like a few days on each. We did it for about 270 each. Both islands are small enough to get to know well on your stay and feel really at home. My husband and I got engaged there and really fell in love with the place! Kefalonia is great too but despite it's fantastic reputation we both preferred the above!
Turkey is good for self-catering apartments. You can get a flight from Stanstead to Dalaman for 200 or less each and the apartments are priced per apt not per person. Pick your resort though, as the big places are 'touristy' and loud.
Try Yalikavak or one of the other villages on the Bodrum peninsula. Akyaka and Turunc are both near Marmaris and quiet. Olu Deniz has some lovely places in the mountains with spectacular views.
Don't go to Bodrum, Marmaris or Kusadasi......
I live in Corralejo, Fuerteventura (canaries). It seems that may meet your expectations, its know as the peacefull island and is really relaxed, underdeveloped and has incredible views.
Lots of great, cheap restaurants. Fantastic live music.
Virtually no nightclubs, hardly any young 'party people'
Reasonable prices, 4 hour flight time. great temp at that time of your aswell.
