Traveling to Brisbane

Hi my niece has given me the task of finding the best airfare traveling to Brisbane return from Manchester. She has been to the travel agent who have told her to look online as the the prices are cheaper that the £1100.00 that they quoted. The travel agents say you can find seats for 750.00 I have been on this computer all night and i can not find any under 1200.00. So i think i may be looking in the wrong places. Anyone have any good sights to look on. I should also say that my niece is in a wheelchair although she can manage on her own ( just about ) she is very strong willed and says she has no problem traveling alone she will be picked up when she gets there.
She is twenty years old. Thanks for any info xx

I have always used travelbag when I have visited Oz. Usually around £700-750
Austravel are also supposed to be pretty good though I have not used them myself.

We'll need dates (plus an indication of any flexibility possible on those dates) if we're to come up with exact figures.

In the meantime, here are some of the websites you should be checking:

Singapore Airlines (via Singapore)

Emirates (via Dubai)

Etihad Airways (via Abu Dhabi)

Cathay Pacific (via Heathrow & Hong Kong)

Malaysia Airlines (via Heathrow & Kuala Lumpur)

Thai Airways (via Heathrow & Bangkok)

Qantas (via Heathrow & Singapore)

All of above can do the journey in either two or three stages, with total journey times of between 25 and 30 hours. Any cheaper routes are likely to involve more flights and possibly considerably extended journey times (of perhaps over 40 hours). However it might be worth checking out KLM's website, to see if there's a reasonable route via Amsterdam.

Whilst the airlines that Chris mentioned are good thought should also be given to the transit airports. I know that Kuala Lumpur and Singapore both look after wheelchair passengers very carefully

Many thanks for all the answers I will look into them althought I think i covered a lot of them last night. The dates she is looking at are 30th June untill 17th July Thanks again xx
