French speaking people, their distrust of strangers/foreigners, their liking of garlic, the traffic signs and their sense of parking, horse meat that passes off as beef in some places...but it is still a fab place for a weekend break.

What ever you do, try and speak in french when you are trying to order food or asking a question. If you just speak plain english and dont make an effort they will find you abrupt and rude.

so just try your best even if its a few words because they will help you out and you wont come across rude.
