I want to travel pref to Bridgewater but friends say they can collect me from either, it doesnt matter which London station I go from.It will be Wed to thefollowing Wed in May. How can find the cheapest fare ?
I want to travel out any time after 10.30am and return anytime after 2pm I am flexible but need to be back in London in time to catch the tube home.
Help appreciated. I am an OAP but I dont have a railcard.

Why not go on the National Express? It takes a bit longer but it might be cheaper. I went to Taunton (rtn) from Heathrow the other week (the coach started at Victoria) for £20.50 with a coachcard.

I would use the National Rail enquiries web-site, just put that in a google search and use the find fares section. I recently went to Winchester and found a cheap fare this way, and bought a Senior railcard on the day, saved 30% on an already cheap fare. You can probably do better by buying your ticket a month in advance and do use a Senior railcard, it will soon pay for itself.

Taunton is a direct service from Paddington that costs, as mushroom25 says, £11.50.
Bridgwater is, as has also been said, £11. But that involves a change at - guess - Taunton.
So you get on the same train from Paddington, get off at the same place, then get on another train for a further ten minutes and it's 50p cheaper. There seems to be precious little logic to this.
All prices supplied in this case by The Trainline.
thank you all sooooo much, you guys are marvellous just booked to Bridgwater for £11 each way, I mean what a fantastic saving.
You have made one old girl very happy
Happy Easter to you all
