Driving down the M62...

Just looking for some opinions really...
Basically I am at University and I have been offered a job in Sale, Manchester. My partner is currently a nurse working at Dewsbury Hospital she works 3 days a week from 7am until 8pm.
We currently live together, and want to when I begin working in Sale, Manchester. While I see that it could be possible with the M62 running on both of our paths I am not sure where will be best to live based on traffic, while I do plan to do some various routes at the times we shall both be working myself, I wanted some opinions before hand of where would be best for us to live.
Thanks in advance.

Also consider, if looking Manchester way, your girlfriend having to drive or commute after such a long shift, especially as a nurse, even though she might find it easier traffic wise commuting at that time.
Public transport could be a factor depending on wages. With say a train fare and tram on top (far quicker than any of the buses from the centre and can be boarded at the station to Sale) would add up quickly.
Stations on the Bury met (tram) line (eg Prestwich, Whitefield) Oldham/Ashton under Lyne/Rochdale way could mean about a 40-50 min drive to Dewsbury hospital and when the met is up and running from those places (underway but a while for some destinations - Bury on now though) you could get the met into town and out to Sale and some of the Bury services run through to Altrincham (line Sale is on). You can get season tickets cheaper.
