North Wales to Nottingham
8 Answers
Getting out of North Wales is the easy bit, although time consuming! We were SUPPOSED to take the M6 North but went "wrong" and took the M6 South. Ended up going through Stafford and the Potteries. Actually, I think it may have been a quicker route. Coming home we went the other way and were only about 9 miles from Leeds before heading down towards Manchester etc etc. Seems like an awful long way North.
Nottingham is almost directly across from us West to East, but quite a long way round either way. We have to go up, across then down or down across and then up. I remember years ago I drove to Southwell (similar area) and drove across the Derbyshire moors; I didn't touch a Motorway. Please could all of those of you who drive regularly or know the routes I'm talking about give me their opinion as to which is best. Thank you.

I always went the Whitchurch-Market Drayton-Stoke route.
An agency nurse from Nottingham recently started work at our place and when I asked her which route she took she said the motorway route.
I suggested my route to her, she gave it a try and now uses that one, particularly as she invariably travels home on Friday evenings and she says traffic is not so snarled up on that route.
