I am off to the USA in a few months. What bargain items should I definitely purchase which are considerably cheaper than in the UK?.

An i-pod, clothes and footware.

I recently got a pair of Timberland boots for about 32.

Sunglasses are also a bargain.

Trainers, jeans, most clothes, peanut butter, plastic bags and some toiletries.

If your going to the states shopping : jeans golf gear  but  take old for new - and beware at customs theyll ask you to declare up to 250 pounds worth

Last summer I was in Florida - got plenty of cheaper designer clothes and trainers. I also purchased a digital camcorder for half the price! Be careful on electrics though as you will see really cheap ones and they are for american use only, all stores will have UK/Pal versions which you can use at home. Happy Shopping!

clothes, shoes and related items lol (belts, bags etc)
also cds and funky food we don't have here

last year in florida i got a t-shirt for $5, yes $5, which cost about 30 here

Cigarettes!!!!
