Hi, has anybody recently flown with Monarch? We are flying with them to Turkey and just thought I'd have a nosy at their reviews. I havent read 1 positive review yet, reports of terrible delays, bad service, awful food and the most worrying thing...the state of the aircrafts!! Im not a good flyer as it is. Almost everyone says they are literally falling apart need updating and have endless "technical faults" reported as the reasons for delays.

Any positives out there??? :)

I've used them a lot. They get me there, and back again.

That's the only good thing I can say about them.
Two flights, both on time - not the newest planes, but perfectly safe/acceptable.

Crap legroom (but than all charter flights are).
They only crash once though.
I've flown with them a couple of times. Like hc says, they got me there and back OK. Both times the flights were full of inebriated stag and hen parties, though, so it wasn't a great experience.
Awww, Traci!!!!
They wouldn't be allowed to fly if they were 'falling apart'

Terrible delays, doesn't mean it is their fault.
I've flown with them a couple of times and had no problems whatsoever.
I recently went somewhere out on Thomas Cook, back on Monarch. Thomas Cook were awful (very cramped), Monarch much better and roomier, better food too.

Does anyone give good review to flights? I think people only use review sites to complain.

Doesnt sound bad at all then and as you guys say, the main thing is you get there and back - oh and on time preferably!! :)
On the whole, perfectly satisfactory and you can pay for added legroom if you so choice. I have flown with them at least 5 times a year for the last 8 years.

Yes, there are occasional delays depending upon your flight time and destination.

Satisfactory.
beware the upgrades, I once paid for one on Monarch and when I boarded, there was no extra legroom at all, just a free paper and soft drink. Make sure what you're getting.

Delays are seldom due to mechanical problems, more likely runway congestion or idiot passengers still shopping in Boots.
jno

\\\ or idiot passengers still shopping in Boots\\\

LOL

or still drinking pints in the bars.
that too
Monarch Airlines are OK in my experience. (My uncle was a pilot with them in the days when they were a proper airline i.e. not one allegedly selling cheap tickets but trying to screw lots of money out of you in every other way possible).
Just, therefore, ignore their overpriced inflight snacks and other irritating "shopping opportunities" and you'll be fine.

That reminds me of when we went to Cyprus and decided to pop over to Egypt. Whilst waiting for the flight , i decided to go browsing - as you do .
Apparently i had held the flight up - there had been numerous messages over the intercom for passenger xxxx - but i swear i did not hear any of them

I swear - i did not hear any of the
' them'
If you want decent leg room, good quick book in, try Jet2 Ollie, they are brilliant, we use them at Man A/Port.
Fly with Monarch regularly. No problems at all. Isn't it their sister company Avro who fly to Turkey? I've no experience of them.
Avro are part of the Monarch Airlines group, which is their dedicated charter only flight provider, who flt to the following..

Hi, ive just come back from Spain and that was flying both ways with Monarch, i notmally always fly with them and have never had a delay, and thats the truth, the crew are polite, the food is ok, as is all aircraft food, and the planes seem ok to me, no bits hanging off and seats al in tact, shouldn`t worry about it, its obviously not going to be as luxurious as virgin but you get what you pay for. x
