Hi,
Have received a speeding ticket after, apparently, being caught by a manual camera somewhere along the A370, in a 30mph limit. All the ticket says is A370 WSM.
Does anyone have a clue where this might have been ? I don't remember seeing any camera signs, or a 30mph speed limit - neither do my passengers.
I've had a quick look at google maps & can only see 50mph areas.
Thanks
There is no obligation upon the police to place warning signs when mobile cameras are in use. Local councils must clearly mark fixed cameras if they wish to retain the revenue from those cameras but they are free to forego that revenue and hide the cameras if they so wish.
Thanks Chris. Doesn't look I can get a road view to check where the speed limit signs are, but s'pose might just be the lamp post thing or something. And didn't know that about warnings signs = revenue.
Guess will just have to accept their offer of a SAW course, though gawd knows where that'd be ... :o(
Just a quick look on google earth says some parts are 50mpg and others have the national speed limit sign
There is a school on that road, were you going past that? Could be the 30mph part, perhaps
Well I've never been to Weston Super Mare, but I can see from google maps that from the sea front to the roundabout where the road name changes from Hildesheim Bridge to Marchfields Way (also the junction with Drove Road, the B3440) it is 30mph and then changes to 40mph.
I live in weston super mare and parts of the A370 are indeed 30mph then also 40mph and some parts are indeed 60mph and 50mph it is totally confusing my best advice to is to keep your eyes pealed about to look for speed restriction signs
