I walked down to some of them, there is a photo in my album on FB, but didn't go in as my friends were walking up Mam Tor and I was meeting them after so didn't want to lose mobile signal in case they came back early and panicked if they couldn't get hold of me :)
I wandered round generally, had a lovely coffee in a place by the big car park then pottered about with my camera, headed up to Peveril Castle (it's pretty steep!). It's only ruins but a lovely view and I managed to link it with my friends being on top of Mam Tor to wave to them. I then wandered down towards the caverns, lovely picturesque walk that way and some lovely coffee shops though it was pretty busy, then ended up outside a gorgeous little pub with benches to meet the others. There was a lovely chippie round the corner too.
Bakewell is meant to be lovely and there is Chatsworth House there. Matlock is gorgeous too, lots of lovely outside pubs (and usually lots of bikers) and you can get a cable car up to the Heights of Abraham and there are some caverns there you can explore, the lower one is quite a steep walk back up though. Great view from the top.
Photos of Matlock in my albums too.
