Australia
Pot luck with the Canaries. Know someone who spent last Xmas in Egypt. It was warm enough to swim (low 20s) but cool in the evening. Depends on budget - the Caribbean will be hot.
Personal experience - India, Australia and New Zealand.
I wouldn't describe Egypt as hot at NY.

Maldives is good though.

Thanks, i did not really put my question properly!! I meant not too far away for a weeks holiday, but guaranteed heat!! LOL x
South East Asia.
^ Forget that then!
Where's forget that then? :-)
Florida (but best south of Miami, it can get nippy oop north). Likewise south coast of the Canaries. Southern Egypt warm, but chilly at night. Dubai.
Maderia - average about 20C or Malta - average about 19C?
Cape Verde is the next place south of the Canaries and the weather is acceptable around Christmas .. http://www.holiday-we.../cape_verde/averages/
Hell, all year round I'm told.

Thanks for all your replies x
I've been to Tenerife for the last 3 Xmas' (Playa de Las Americas) and have found it to be pleasantly warm during the day (low to mid 20's).
During the night I was quite comfortable walking around in jeans and t-shirt.
December is the wettest month though, followed by November and January. If you're going for a week, you might get lucky and it might not rain a single day, but from past experience, expect a bit of rain for a day or so.

Been to the Caribbean the last few Christmas's and New Year.Weather has been brilliant. Perhaps a bit to far for just a week.
Yep def tenerife! I went 27th dec for a week and was in my bikini ! Bliss x
I agree Tenerife is about the nearest for the sun in winter. We were there a couple of years ago for two weeks for the New Year. Very warm and sunny, no rain and better than being here in January. If I could afford it we'd go to Australia for the winter.
The Eden Project, Cornwall.
Polperro. Hottest fancy dress part outside Rio carnival or the Biennale.
