I bought a ticket from Easyjet to fly at the start of September but the event I was attending has been called off. How can I go about cancelling my flight and am I due a refund? The price was around £60.

You'd need to look at the T&Cs on their website - log in and look at your booking, it'll tell you what to do. I don't know whether you'll get a refund through, so near the journey date.

"If You cancel Your Booking 24 hours after You have made the Booking, no refund will be paid, other than a refund of any APD."

Does that mean you need to cancel 2 hours before the flight and I can't actually do it now, I need to wait until that specific time? Is so, they make nothing easy.
No...

two hours before the flight is the latest you can cancel
.
Cancellations made within 24hrs of booking will be refunded.

Cancelations made after 24hrs of booking will not be refunded.
Errr, no it means if you cancel 24hrs after booking you'll only get APD back.

^^^Based on reading Chucks post.
