Which country is directly underneath us or is it water? If so what are the exact coordinates?
South of New Zealand I recall for London but I suppose it depends where you are

If i wanted to be as far as i could from where i am which exact place would i need to be?
What an interesting question and link rocky - it says only 4% of land would hit land rather than water at its opposite point on the globe.
Vertically beneath the Canary Islands is Australia
Good links - I had better stop digging because I can't swim and there is a huge ocean at the other side of my tunnel.
you sure about that SirP, The Canary Islands are far too South to end up in Australia?
Prudie - you are right. If you place Canary Islands on the + in Map A you will see that the opposite point on Map B is off the east coast of Australia.
Australia's a huge place; it's like saying "if I dug down from Europe where would I come out?" But London will bring you out on the date line somewhere SE of New Zealand.
