My train gets into Charing X then I have to get to Heathrow terminal 3 think I've got the route sorted but can't seem to find a cost - does anyone know (approx is fine) thank you.
As Eddie states, you can save money by buying an inclusive ticket to 'Heathrow' (for travel using the Heathrow Express) or to 'Zone 6' (for travel by Underground services only)
one stop north on the Bakerloo line to Piccadilly Circus then change to the Piccadilly line to Heathrow Terminals 1,2,3 (the ones going via T4 take quite a few minutes longer). Don't bother with the Heathrow Express, it's out of your way as well as expensive. If you can wait till 2018, you could catch Crossrail...
I hope you are not taking heavy suitcases. I had a dreadful time lugging a quite small suitcase from Heathrow to my railway station via the Tube. Never again - I frequently had to use stairs. Far, far too many of them
Sorry I failed to reply to Eddie 51, Buenchicho, jno and atalanta but I only had a few hours to sort my journey - belated thanks to all of you, I appreciate your answers.
