bobtheturkey...that is sheer, utter nonsense and typical of many Brits who have no experience of other health systems and the arrogance of people like you have p1ssed me off for years.
The standard of Healthcare in Australia is equal to and in many cases, superior to, healthcare in the UK.

It also makes a big difference to the state of mind if, when you open the curtains of a morn, the sky is blue and the sun is shining.
The relatively high price of some food is in part due to a lack of real competition in supermarkets but Aldi are making inroads on the east side at least.

I love my country and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
I have spent extended periods working abroad and am always relieved to get home, although I do enjoy going to different countries for holidays etc.
I feel I have a good knowledge of how this country works - the government, income tax, my rights under the law should I be arrested (not so far!), who to contact in case of a problem.... I know the customs, culture, history (more than any other country anyway)... I am comfortable here.
Blue skies get boring after a while. I love the English weather - it what makes the country green and pleasant. I don't want to cover up and slap on the sunscreen all the time.

The temperature depends on where you go. The south of the continent is no hotter then France on average. In the North it is tropical. Aus is 2500 miles wide so not an island like most seem to think.
The main cities are very multi cultural, bringing a wide range of craft, food and diversity. In general, aussies are an easygoing hospital race, always willing to 'debate' their sporting prowess.
Social/health services are superior to the UK's and if you're willing to work you can have a good life. There is an ongoing theme to stamp out brainless idiot behaviour and you are probably safer there then anywhere else in the world.

Australia is sometimes dubbed "The Island Continent", and sometimes accorded the role of "Earth’s largest island but smallest continent".

The vast majority of Brits simply don't meet the criteria for being allowed to settle in Australia, so your question is rather meaningless:

A few years ago, I met a couple from Australia who had emigrated to the UK which I found quite novel. They explained that they loved the idea of getting on a plane and within a couple of hours you were in a country with a different language and different culture so lots more interesting than getting on a plane in Australia flying a few hours and still surrounded by Australians and English language. For this we're very fortunate in Europe.
Re. the hissy fits above above Oz healthcare - I am sure the standard of care is fine - but unlike the UK is isn't free. It seems that it has followed the US model and so expensive insurance is necessary. I think there are arrangements for British emigres but the likelihood is this will be on the rough and ready end of the healthcare spectrum.
That, alongside the other high living costs , is worth bearing in mind if considering emigration.

She's in Canberra. Her cousins are in Sydney.
They have to do fruit picking as part of the conditions. It's only a couple of weeks.
She says they have their pick of jobs. She's working in a hotel and the job varies. She'll be bar one night, house keeping the next, kitchen duties...etc. Her boyfriend is working in construction and is earning great money.
