Parking In London Q
Hi,
We are going to London (city center) for a few days in May for a wedding and we are staying in a hotel without parking and wondered if there was anywhere to park that doesn't cost the earth.
The NCPs near the hotel cost a fortune and it is costing us enough to go already :( We don't mind leaving the car a bit further out as long as they have a tube or train close by.
Thanks

Thank you everyone.
We would normaly stay in Kew and catch the train into central London but as it is a family wedding need to be in zone 1.
We have a budget hotel on City Road and the car park the hotel reccomends is in Finsbury Park!! at £36 for 24hrs.
Anywhere that we can get the train or tube would be realy great and we don't mind a bit of a commute :)

Well, you could park near Debden on the Central line, change at Bank and get on Northern Line round to Old St or Angel, dependng whereabouts on City Road the hotel is. Journey will probably take about 45 mins.
You will probably have to park about 5 mins walk away though as anything nearer usually gets swallowed up by commuters.

Depending upon which budget hotel on City Road you are staying at and which days you need to be there, the CPZs only operate until 1830 Monday to Friday and then to 1230 Saturday. You may therefore find that street parking is not outrageous and reasonably available in some locations.
Alternatively, there are two temporary car parks on Holywell Lane which charge reasonable amounts per day but these are not open 24/7 (not even sure they are open weekends) so you would have to be carfeful using these.

Cricky I've just looked on train line and it's £86 one way :0 just for my family...
We are staying in Woolwich for a couple of days next month so will investigate then as well. If there had been a tube station close by I would probably have gone there lol
Thank you for the links. I am working my way through them and because there will be three cars will have to make sure everyone can park relatively close to each other.
