Me and a few mates (approx 10-15 in total) are planning on going away for a long weekend around March/April 2014.

I'm looking to make this as cheap as possible as I can't really afford an expensive trip. Does anyone know when the best time to book for around march/april 2014?

Or have any ideas to cut costs.

many thanks

Word of warning.

Whilst it is easy for mates to sit around in a pub and say they all fancy going away, a lot can happen between now and March 2014 (over a year away).

They can lose their job, get a steady girlfriend, get engaged or even married, move away from the area, change their mind and so on.

So it is VERY risky for anyone to book up flight or holidays on their own credit card or whatever unless EVERYONE has paid up front BEFORE the holiday is booked.

There is a very real risk the you (or someone else) will book the holiday and then one by one they will drop out and you will be left paying the bill.

You have been warned.
Google Broadway Travel who often have great low value packages - just read the details carefully (the flight times are usually early / late hence the low price - and usually only inc hand luggage) also cross reference the hotel to trip advisor to get a few reviews before booking.
When we went on a hen weekend with 16 people to Amsterdam we agreed on a hotel and dates and which flights we would get Then we all booked our own flights and we paid a deposit each to the organiser for the hotel, which the organiser then paid to the hotel. Then we each paid the balance of our hotel at the end of our stay, so if you backed out you lost the cost of your flights and your hotel deposit and nobody else was out of pocket
I'm off to Amsterdam in two weeks time, I booked it 11 months ago, £61 pounds return each on Easyjet, including a bag both ways. I didn't bother booking a hotel until about 4 months ago. Mosesgs idea seems a good one - get everyone to pay for their own flights.
i just booked 4 nights start of march to amsterdam for 135pp lgr LGW.
find a place through hostelworld and get your flights with easyjet.
cheap as chips!
