A Direct Quote From Daily Mail Journo Joanna Moorhead
She wrote a piece on Tamworth being the fattest town.. despite the data being 6 years out of date... anyway lets not get into that
"I don;t really know if i represented the town fairly - my editor wanted me to write a colour piece. We pick and choose what we include and i was asked to look at Tamworth as an outsider, regarding obesity. every side should have its say but i didn't even plan to over the other side."
o wonder if this is applied to other articles written.... :-)

As I have posted before, one of my friends is a freelance and worked for The Daily Wail for a while.
Ms Moorhead's admission backs up my friend's rather jaded view of Daily Wail journalism; in short, writers (staff and freelance) are briefed on the paper's agenda, sorry, it's interpretation of its readers' main interests (ie prejudices and preconceived notions of the world) and it is clear what type of story will be most readily purchased.
His low opinion of the paper is mostly due however, to its willingness to run stories without proper (or any) verification if they 'fit the agenda'.
And their wilful reluctance to admit a mistake when someone complains about lies and fabrications unless and until someone's lawyer gets them by the throat.
