I Really Must Get My Hearing Checked

Mr BD was on his laptop and logged in to his rugby league club's website just checking out the fixture list. Next minute there was a great shout of triumph and I heard "That's the best news I've heard for ages. The Leeds Rhinos coach has been shot dead". Well we do live in Lancashire but even I thought that was a bit harsh so I said "That's not nice". "I think its great" was his reply. "Should have happened long before now". I gave him a piece of my mind and then realised he was looking at me as if I was mad. What I did not realise was he had moved on to a news website and had actually said "Indian rhino poachers shot dead".

In my defence I was reading at the time and listening to Eric Clapton's new CD. Anyone else admit to mishearing their beloved and nearly causing a row?

frequently, however, we now acknowledge he never listens to me so rows are now avoided.
