Hello can you tell me if my US hairdryer will work on the Uk voltage, i know if i take a UK dryer to the US it works really slow

No!  Without a transformer, it would burn out as UK voltage is in the range 220-240.
Actually, I think the UK device would work, but not nearly as efficiently since it's designed, as SteveD says, for 220 volts and the US standards is 110.  However, the bigger problem is the plug end doesn't fit the US receptacle.  If a US device were plugged into a UK outlet, then it would cause a lot of damage...
Hmmm. actually... I need to read the question more closely...I had my response reversed from the intent of the question... but valid, nonetheless...

You can try your luck with an adapter, but you might find it best to go to a store and simply purchase an inexpensive hair dryer after you arrive. They really don't cost too much, and it's a sure thing. Just a thought....
