A130 Chelmsford Road

How long has that new bit of Chelmsford Road A130 been there? It's from Canvey Island to Chelmsford. My Sat Nav doesn't know it, so I'm trying to work out how long I've had my TomTom. Thanks. And how much will it cost to update my TomTom? Thanks

Its a major road! Not sure it has any addresses on it which may be you problem.

We've got an old (7yrs +) Tomtom 500 Go, we can update it once a year for free, when you go on the TT site it's quite a performance to find the right model.

Can I really update it for free Baldric? I was told on my recent thread, about TomToms, that I couldn't. I really hope I can.
Johnny, I needed to use the A130 to get to Stansted airport on Monday night. As my TomTom only knows the pattern of the previous old road it takes you left too soon, and then after a while wants you to turn left into a field. I feel a little nervous when driving long distances so it's very important for me not to be lead the wrong way. I get a bit panicky because I have no sense of direction/geography to get me back on route. Thanks for answers.

The route is straightforward if you look at the road map and ignore the satnav. Just continue along the A130 until you see signs for the A120/Stansted.

I also recommend the RAC route planner.

Thanks Johnny. I like to use my TomTom as it gives me confidence. I'm too nervous to rely on Route Finder at the moment, but maybe in the future I can.

yes, I think it's been there at least 8 years too. I'm sure my TomTom is newer than that, and yet it hasn't got it on there. I wonder why.
