I now fly BA and stop off at Gatwick, better that than giving that idiot my money. I never found Ryanair that much cheaper. The prices will continue to increase once the lovely Mr O'Leary starts charging people for the air they breathe in his planes.....I'm surprised he hasn't done it already!
>>>clown of a chairman?
If you're referring to Michael O'Leary, he's hardly a 'clown' (and he's not 'Chairman' either; he's CEO). He's an extremely intelligent, and unusually honest, businessman. While most companies try to hide extra charges as 'customer service benefits', Michael O'Leary has always been completely open about the fact that his job is to maximise profits for shareholders (which every CEO is actually under a legal duty to do anyway!).
I've travelled with plenty of airlines but Ryanair is definitely my favourite.
Anyway, if your post refers to charges for cabin baggage, Michael O'Leary has made it clear that he's NOT planning to introduce them:

He's also got a great sense of humour. Which other airline could advertise special offers on drinks (as Ryanair does in in their current in-flight magazine) with the slogan "because the toilets are still free"?
;-)

O'Leary makes me ashamed to be Irish. He's an arrogant so-and-so whose attitude is basically "like it or lump it". He may be a great businessman, but personally being a great businessman is not one of the things that endears people to me
I'd fly Ryanair if I had to, like Prudie, or if they were the best option, because I wouldn't want to cut off my nose to spite my face.
But thankfully that situation has not yet arisen

>>>Michael O'Leary of RyanAir and his staff are IMHO a greedy lot of ***** who don't care a **** about the customers
That's exactly why I admire him so much! Any businessman who actually cares one iota about either his staff or his customers has no right to be in business. PROFIT is what matters and absolutely NOTHING else should be allowed to get in the way of it!!!

I have to fly with them when i visit Dinard in France. No other option. Not my favourite airline, but I can live with it for the time of the flight.
I dislike their online booking process, the cabin livery, and that annoyingly smug "you have arrived on another ontime flight with RyanAir" or however the hell it goes. And no airline is more blatant in treating their customers like cattle.
Oh, and I dislike O'Leary, and resent enriching his company with my business..
Apart from that, they are great :)

I can't understand all the negatives about Ryanair, it's no worse than travelling on a National Express bus, and as most flights are shorthaul it's fine. I've found some schedule airlines' transatlantic flights not much more comfortable.
A lot of complaints are from people who haven't bothered to read the requirements, if BA etc offer similar prices l would possibly fly with them but I'm more than happy to drive an hour to Stansted and face the scrum for a cheap flight.

I fly Ryan Air quite often and it is what it is. you can fly half away across Europe for £9 quite often, which better airlines tend not to be able to compete with. I don't like Ryan Air but their crazy cheap prices make them an appealing option as long as you don't mind it's total lack of service and the fact that staff are standing vulture like ready to weigh and measure your hand luggage and the slightest mistake ( forgetting to print your boarding card, being 10 gramms over weight with your carry on bag) will cost you at least £60.
I'd rather fly Easy Jet or better still Flybe ( who are cheap but actually cheerful). Lufthansa is great but it costs anything up to £600 for the same flight Ryan Air can do for £30- so it's no contest.
