Scottish Cultures And Laws - Advice.

The BBC Good Morning programme has just warned late summer holiday makers to take care of local laws and customs when travelling. Acts like carrying mineral water into Nigeria, wearing camouflage in Barbados and feeding the pigeons in Venice contravene local laws.

I'm shortly off to Scotland . What advice do folk have for laws and cultures to be aware of north of Hadrian's Wall?

You can get that online now humbersloop and in any case that's only for the wild ones.
Quite a few struggling grouse moors have been given over to the beastie as they're easier to breed. The cost of that licence is included in the package along with lasso hire.

Where are you going to visit? You might need a visa before you are allowed to cross the border. Take your entire collection of cardigans and some rainwear.

To indicate to the locals that you are an English tourist and that you may require assistance you should a badge or t-shirt saying "I'm an eejit"

The introduction of catch and release was seen as a coming of age for Auld Scotia.

Whilst logically the advice to bone up on the local laws before going seems good, in practice no one can reasonable be expected to study everything they might need to know before being a guest for a week or two.

If a foreign country values the income from tourism then it ought be lenient on those minor laws that a visitor could reasonably expect not to know about. If they don't then their reputation should be made known so folk can book to go elsewhere,

As for north of Hadrian's Wall, I think it's a crime to be a Sassenach.

Only one humbersloop and it categorically states that it is an offence to store it within corpus Anglia, even in an emergency. The sole exception is Simon Cowell.

In some areas, (generally North of the wall) it is I believe, de rigueur to sport a Tartan Tam-o'-shanter, with attached Ginger hairpiece during daylight hours.
