Hi - a little question but it is worrying me..

We travel to Kenya next week (Voyager Hotel) and the dress code for dinner is smart - so no shorts allowed - long trousers and shirts for men is stated - but what other rules are there for "smart dress code" - I have 2 teenagers - son is 13 - what will he get away with wearing (not a long trouser person !) - also what would you fashion conscious women wear !!

Many thanks

The phrase 'smart dress' always means no jeans, tee-shirts, shorts, trainers, that kind of thing. It can be a little more formal - jacket and tie for men, but the best thing is to contact the hotel and ask them to explain what is required. As for your son, I'm sure he could manage a pair of long trousers for a couple of hours a day - appeal to his 'adult' sense of style!
