I'm going to Bled next month and was planning to use cash machines rather than travellers cheques.  The guide book and Visa website say this would be fine, but has anyone who's been there got any advice?

I haven't been to Slovenia but I've been to Czech and a lot of other countries and I can use both my Switch/Maestro and Visa card in the machines. So you should be fine. Depending on what bank you're with they might charge you for withdrawing cash abroad so make sure you withdraw a good lump sum so you don't have to go back for more each day. Even better use your visa card in the shops.

Hi

I was lucky enough to go to this beautiful country and indeed Bled.  I did go before they joined the EU but I used all my cards over there and had no problems at all.  I went with 15 other people and they all used cards as well - no problems.
