Train Tickets From Stansted To Birmingham New St In Late June

I am trying to buy tickets for this journey, but can only find ridiculous prices. Will they get cheaper nearer the date?

I'm seeing about £34 return, not sure they'll get any cheaper than that.

what time are you travelling?

on a sample day (12th June), £27 fare available at 08h21, then £17.10 on the 10h27, 11h27 and 12h27, £45.80 from 13h27 to 17h27, £17.10 at 18h21 and 19h21 - these are the X-C trains direct to BHM, journey just over 3 hours.

just for comparison, national express do the journey in 4hr30mn, and the cheapest fare is £20.

Those are what I'm seeing Mushroom, I'm guessing Piggy is seeing the ones via Euston at £60 odd

for travel on the 26th, you haven't reached the "advance fare" threshold yet - look in a week or 2.

If it's after 20:30 then you won't be able to get the direct train as the last is 20:21, via London is going to be your only route unless you go for the coach :-(

thought of another possibility, what about the stansted express to tottenham hale, tube to euston, and train to B´ham new st. Think you can get a ticket which includes the express & tube?

According to The Trainline right now. £10.50 each leaving Stansted at either 21:00 or 22:00. The route is the one you suggested.
