Is it normal for the terminal to change? I've got to pick my OH up from Gatwick tonight and his ticket says south terminal but when I look on the arrivals board it says north. Big differnce for where to park.
On my last 3 flights I have departed from the South Terminal
but, contrary to my booking confirmation the return leg landed
at the North Terminal. This necessitates taking the train to the
South Terminal and my car.
Each time I query this I am told it is 'for operational reasons'.
Thanks toalisi, tis a pain in the bum, thank God I looked. I had all my directions worked out for south and now I have to rearrange them all in my head.
easyJet flights with numbers starting with a '5' normally use the South terminal. It looks as if they've had to swap some aircraft around and the one your OH is arriving on will then be used for a flight number starting with '8' (or a domestic flight), which all go from the North terminal
It could well be because they are early. There is often a penalty to pay when you are early because your stand is taken so you have to park somewhere else. That could be what has happened.
Thanks all. I've never driven there before as we normally use Stansted. Have to leave half hour earlier now but at least I should be back home the same.
We have landed at different terminals than advertised in the past, due to them not being able to get a gate. Easy to get between the 2 using the little train though.
