i'm thinking of using Epping, Theydon Bois, Loughton etc. to park on a Saturday for a day in London. Arriving at about 8am. It appears to be £2 per day on a Saturday.

Does anyone know how busy the station car parks are likely to be at the weekend and whether one is preferable to the next for either accessibility or space?

Not from anywhere near Essex (Hampshire in fact) but I find station weekend parking at that early hour is plentiful compared to weekdays. The £2 all day is quite a bargain in my view.
I think Theydon is pretty empty at the weekend, available spaces when I've dropped OH off or used the tube myself not sure about the other 2 as I usually get a lift There are a few spaces on the street that you could probably park a couple of minutes walk away at Debden. If you're coming down the M11 you'll be best off at Epping (don't think there are any street restrictions at the weekend but I'll have a look) else you'll end up right in London or using the M25 to come back round.

Thanks Rocky. I lived closeby many years ago but have lost track of the junctions and the road layouts now.

I'm happy to pop in a car park rather than find a side street, just for ease of access on the way home, but its always good to know that if all else fails, its not all resident permits.
have a look at this

epping has the larger car park so maybe a better bet.
Alternatively, Cockfosters is only minutes from M25 jn 24.

Thanks Mushroom, I did have look at the website and found the prices etc.

I was just wondering whether there would be plenty of spaces at 8am and if one of those on the M11 route would be easier than the next. So far I think Epping is favourable, besides if we fall asleep on the way home we cannot miss our stop!
In your shoes, I'd do Epping or Theydon, the M25 is a pig at the moment with 50 mile an hour speed limit for miles and if you're on the M11 anyway then it's not too much of an effort to get there. You'll be early enough to miss shopping traffic through Epping High St for either station.
Maydup, just had a thought, before you make plans check the tfl website for planned works, sometimes the Central Line has big closures at the weekend..

Aww thanks Rocky, glad I've checked. All OK on the central line for June but not so on Circle or District or others at weekends.
there's a big circular car park near there isn't there?
