Mr Smow, as a surprise, booked this weekend away at the opening of the brand new Centreparcs in Woburn forest. Fri - Mon in one of the lodges for us and teen smow. Even made sure teen smow has his own room. Am really excited and think son deserves something nice. But Mr Smow didn't think about school and how strict they are about having any time off, and he's already paid for it. Am pretty sure if tell school he will be having 2 days off as holiday they will say no and if I still go then I will get a fine. Or else its a case of son developing a 'virus'.......... ?

there's a nasty bug going round
I would start by cuffing Mr Smow round the ear for his stupidity.
I can hear the sniffles from here Smow.

Just go, young Smow deserves a break.
What, and teach the child it is OK to lie?
White lies are okay.

Go..enjoy yourself.

Yep Young Smow surely does. Just hate fibbing to the school....... better pray none of us are in any pics of the opening weekend!
It is a lie undoubtedly but young Smow has been through a lot recently so a couple of days as a family will be very beneficial to them all. Some things are more important.
He's looking under the weather to me.

Slap on the F50 though so that he doesn't go to school next week with a tan :-)

Am I alone?

It's not a white lie, it's a lie that he will have to continue when he returns to school.
I had a ''bug'' last weekend Smowball.. say little Smow caught it... computer virus? lol... have a lovely time Mrs C x
No, I'm with you Hopkirk.
Hopkirk...it wasn't that long ago you'd get permission to do it. Last year my son was given permission for a week off to go on holiday with his nan.
Not last year...year before.
As long as little smow remembers not to blab about his holiday when he gets back. It's only for a couple of days though, I hope you all enjoy it. There are some awful bugs going around lately.
though little smow would love this will he be able to say nothing when he is back at school to drop you in it!
(i know i'm a party pooper)
pay the fine Smo, it keeps things straightforward
Question Author
Isnt the fine something mad like £1000 tho?
No...I think it's £80.
Question Author
How do I find out for definite? x
The bloke who was fined £1,000 contested the original fine. I think that was for 2 kids as well.
