Actually, real or not, its a lot more interesting than the real thing. In 1994 I travelled 100's of miles to see this bloody monument and if anyone else is thinking about doing the same, forget it ! Hitchcock has a lot to answer for as far as I am concerned. You can't get within 2-3 miles of the bally thing and it was a distinct disappointme nt. However, Wounded Knee...

Dusty...I have almost the same pic in my albun, but with my hand in it !
I think I was expecting so much more when I visited. The surrounding area is simply stunning, as I said in my previous post. South Dakota isn't on most peoples itinerary when it comes to an American Road Trip but it should be ! I guess I was expecting a nice chair-lift up the side...the Swiss would certainly have obliged !
Here is another place to visit :::

To visit this place is too truly realise the extent of the awful things that the white man did to the native Americans, only just over 100 years ago.
Its interesting to note that up until a few years ago, the site of the Battle of the Little Bighorn was shown as a "massacre" on the American road maps and Wounded Knee was shown as a Battle...now its the opposite, thank goodness.
