Good link from Buenchico. I assume you know Bristol airport is nowhere near Bristol, it's out in the styx!!
good advice from webbo

it is not so much the styx as a nice part of Somerset and it should be possible to find somewhere nice rather than a concrete faceless building

stay a few days in Som if you can
Quick - everyone round to Dave's house..... ☺
Yes - there's a golf club nearby that offers decent rooms and even a bus service over to the airport at very reasonable rates....you can leave the car there for at a fairly cheap rate - it's where my sister and partner go....
Tall Pines, I believe....

I should have said that most of the links ive provided offer a shuttle bus service to the airport as part of their service.

Dave
For PP - of course I meant sticks, no idea why I typed styx !!
Kazal....if you live nearly 12 hours drive (?) away from Bristol Airport, I am wondering if there isn't a closer airport for you to fly from. I am guessing that you live in the far north of Scotland ?
// Kazal....if you live nearly 12 hours drive (?) away from Bristol Airport,// drives like my m-i-l ?
Kazal....sorry....I wasn't sure what 11/2 meant ! I guess what you meant was one and half hours away.

If you are that close, why don't you just drive to the Airport ? Whenever I have travelled from Bristol, from South Wales, I have used the Silver Zone parking, which is affordable and very efficient.
I'm guessing he wants to stay overnight because he needs to be at the airport at 4am. In those circumstances I'd stay overnight too - at an airport hotel.
you might want to check the airport is actually open at 4am. Most aren't, even if they tell you to be there then.
I liked Styx better

reminds me of the River Frome
But which Frome? I cross the Dorset one every day going to a work. If I see a duck or swan on it I'll have a good day, if not I won't!!

To echo jno's psot, although check-in will probably be open a lot of the shops may not be.
I wouldn't even count on check in, Prudie. I've been literally the only person in Heathrow at 4.30am.
