Visiting NY in January for 7-10 days. Would like to visit Niagara falls and do some site seeing in NY and obviously try and do some shopping. Pls advice re transport from JFK to Manhattan. Any comments re accomadation and advice welcome. Thank you in advance.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.hey. i'm going to new york soon too. in one month, nine days, fourteen hours, fifteen minutes actually. not that i'm counting :) i'm landing in JFK as well. u can take the air train for $5 to jamaica station where u can get a subway for next to nothing to wherever u want to go. or u can use the airport service bus which is every 20 minutes to grand central station and port authority. its $13 one way. then there's a taxi, which is a flat fee of $45 but will take u right to the door of where u staying. as for accommodation, i';m staying in times square hostel which is about �19 a night, not sure what it is in dollars. if hostels are your thing then go to hostelbookers.com, if not then i dont know how to advise you. i have a whole notebook of times and prices for various attractions and stuff so if u need anymore advice just ask. another thing - getting around. subway and bus journeys are all $2 each. but i'll be getting a metrocard which comes in several types: pay-per-ride u can top up from $4 to $80 and u get one free ride for every $10 u spend. the other type is unlimited ride, which is what im getting. daily fun passes are $7 and last for unlimited bus and subway for a day, u can get a 7-day for $21 and 30-day for $70. gonna finish this little essay now. hope its helped.
