Just looking for suggestions really. I recently organised a reunion for our year from our old Girls' Grammar School. We went to a local restaurant and had a great time. We hadn't seen each other in over 40 years. Now we plan to have a short break together in 2016. A few, including myself, are ruling out camping or glamping!! Any ideas? By the way, we're all 61 and there will probably be about 15-20 of us. I think for this first one, UK is probably preferable.

TIA

60s weekend at butlins .already answered on yor chatterbank post x
When I read heading I thought you were going to Reunion (in the Indian Ocean). As I have been there I wanted to say something about it.......
However, if you want to all spend some time together it will very much depend where is convenient for you to get to from where you all live.
Warners Leisure Hotels are very good, lots to do during the day and evening entertainment (if you want) and they do good deals for groups. My friend swears by them.

York?

Yes gavmacp. York sounds lovely. I bet some of the group have already been there, not that it matters THAT much.
It's a city I have visited many, many times but will definitely be visiting again.
why don't you ask the others what they would like to do ?

I have Mallyh! But I just wanted to hear other suggestions.
When we were last in York ate at the lime house not nice decor but lovely food. Also ate at a place called the black swan (I think!) it is a pub but decent food.
If you'd consider going abroad, Barcelona would be worth considering. It's served by 3 airports (the wonderfully-named El Prat, Reus and Girona) meaning that it's easy to get flights there from anywhere in the UK (and, because of the level of competition, often at really low prices).

Otherwise Norwich is great for short breaks. There's plenty to do and see within the city itself and the Broads and the beautiful North Norfolk coast are all within easy reach.

Canterbury is another possibility, with lots to do in the city and lovely Whitstable just down the road.

Thanks Chris, this is going to be fun to decide!! I think it's definitely going to be UK, so we'll be considering ALL options.
