Yes...it's a head-scratcher.

I hope there will be equanimity in sentencing, but only if they can be arrested for committing a crime. Did they go to fight alongside ISIS, or marry terrorists? If it's the latter, I'm not sure whether they are guilty of anything (other than rank stupidity).

The girls have gone there to get married.

Unless getting married has been made illegal, I fail to see what sentence you think she should get.

To marry a known terrorist should automatically make any female guilty of complicity in a terrorist act & therefore should be treated exactly the same as the terrorist without question.

The Gentlemen won't allow the ladies to take up arms in face to face fighting but it is Ok to strap a suicide vest to said ladies and blow them and innocents to kingdom come. IMO any female who takes the trouble to travel from a safe haven to join ISIS is a potential murderous terrorist.
