I sent for some car air freshners from Groupon. They were advertised as 'each pack contains an assortment of 10 flavours' It then list the 10 assorted fragrances in each pack. This morning an envelope arrived which contained just 1 freshner which isn't even in the list, it's called Lemon Lavender and it smells horrible.Surely they won't be sending each one in a separate envelope? What would you expect from this description, 1 or 10? Many thanks.

How much did you pay?
I would expect ten because of the wording.

It should state: Each pack will contain one of the flavours
I would expect 10 because of this wording.

Each pack contains an assortment of ten flavours
It's very badly worded but for £2.99 I would expect 1 candle freshener, especially at that price. An assortment of 10 fragrances should read 1 from an assortment.
Contact Groupon and complain.
I think I agree with Prudie. For £2.99 I wouldn't expect 10. If it looks too good to be true.......
Looking at it again the heading is very clear:

1, 2 or 3 Yankee Candle Ultimate Car Jar Air Fresheners from £2.99 Assortment of Ten Fragrances (Up to 49% Off)
Well I would read that as you get 1 for 2.99 as there are three options to buy one two or three; although I agree the wording is a bit confusing.

below the big picture and before the pricing, it definitely says
"Choose from the following options for 1, 2 or 3 Yankee candle ultimate car jar air fresheners"
then
"£2.99 for one pack (43% off)
£5.48 for two packs (47% off)
£7.99 for three packs (49% off)"

However I do think that you have got an argument that they have sent you a fragrance that wasn't listed in the offer. Have you opened it?

I phoned Groupon hc4361 but they are only open Mon - Fri. I thought it sounded too good to be true but it is also £1.99 P&P so that makes it £4.98 altogether and I wouldn't pay that for 1 car air freshner. Also, if it was only 1, wouldn't there have been somewhere where you could choose which one you want? The one they have sent isn't even listed.

I have opened it woofgang but I've put it back in it's packaging as it's stinking the place out.
Caveat emptor. As always.
not necessarily Barsel, it does say clearly 2.99 for 1. personally i would take the lesson, bin the thing and move on.
Give it to,the mother in law for Christmas.

If you click on Buy, then options, the options are 1,2 or 3 packs. It then says each pack contains 10 flavours, so I can't see how they can get out of that. x
As an aside but indication of what an enterprising idea can bring you - a couple of years on an out of the way beach in Menorca an absolutely stunning superyacht came into the bay and moored up. With binos I could see it was called Paraffin. When I got home I looked it up and saw it was commissioned and built for the founder of the Yankee Candle Company.
IMO They have missed out the words "One, two or three from" but the sense of the ad, to me, is clear enough. In any case all you will get back is your outlay and how much time/stress/phonecall costs are you prepared to waste?
Prudie, he also flogged that firm and started a new one with his son, called Kringle candles.

As much as it takes woofgang :-). I think it's part of being a Scorpio. x
Then you will do it whatever we say so why ask?
