Achieving Large Goals

I have a girlfriend that lives in America, and myself in the UK. We really really want to meet next year but it might not happen because of money issues. Has anyone had this problem before and resolved it? Do you have any tips that might help? She has a part time job as a hostess in a small resteraunt and I don't work at all if that helps.

It's hard to find a job. plus I'm only 17 and saving up roughly £1500 ard. That won't stop me but I want to know if there are quicker ways

Just a quick question - have you met/seen her before, either over there, or here in the UK ??

By the time you've saved up, the chances are you'll have found a more local interest - I think if money is scarce it is a lot to spend just on a ticket.

I think you need to take a deep breath and be realistic. Instead of pining away and spending your wonderful years of youth on this scenario, engage with the world around you and keep trying to find work, make friends, live your life. If it's meant to happen with the lady in the states, then one day it will. But putting your life on hold to achieve it strikes me as something you'll regret in later life.
