Has Germany Realised They Bit Off More Than They Could Chew

It would appear Germany has no problem finding out where to send back their surplus now they realise their showboating has backfired on them.
We use our military assets to bring em in to Europe and Germany may use theirs to sling em back. What a farce.

Update: It is 640 miles between Stuttgart and Berlin and we are even a bit further, of the 60 dropped off in the middle of the night in a nearby village I have learnt that two of them immediately took a local taxi there!
So who and where are they is anyone's guess, they are certainly not without cash. ISIS ?

//Cameron is in the same mould as Merkel. 'Nuff said.//
I don't agree with that at all. Europe criticised the UK government for not doing enough even though the UK had pledged millions of pounds more in aid money than the rest to Syria. Direct to the camps.
The Prime Minister did not throw his arms open and proclaim,"Come one come all.
This is how the UK can show how hospitable we are to any ragamuffin who wishes to take advantage of us"
Cameron has said he will send representatives to the camps in Syria and cherry pick deserving cases and not be told what our unmanageable quota should be by Europe.

Makes one wonder where they will take them back to and will that country or countries give the okay for the German aircraft to land?
On the TV news last night, it was reported how the EU countries are patrolling the Mediterranean, with ships and helicopters on the lookout for the people smugglers.
It then went on to say, "it isn't long before they were spotted", no not the smugglers but a rubber dingy full of migrants.
And then what happened? We saw them being taken on board one of the patrol vessels, now I wonder where they were taken to? No they didn't report that bit.
Might as well have a luxury liner permanently moored off the North African coast, welcoming on board all and sundry for a nice safe and comfortable trip across the Med. That at least will cut out the middle man.

One of our ABers suggested that our latest chancers who pitched up on Akriotiri just happened to land there by accident and just grateful for salvation. Apparently this was a concern for the MOD and was discussed a few weeks ago as a foregone conclusion. Naive indeed!
Shame the MOD did not act on their instincts and mined the landing beach if it is British Sovereign territory when it suits the Cypriots.

Todays link. It says that it is believed that Akriotiri was deliberately targeted as a back door to Europe. No suprise there then but Colonel Rose said this scenario had previously been discussed and no one had a plan of action ready for the event.

Well if it is untrue I am sure we will hear from Colonel Bob Stewart in no uncertain terms that he has been misquoted won't we? meanwhile............
Colonel Bob Stewart, who sits on the Commons defence select committee, said: ‘I was at RAF Akrotiri weeks ago and they were discussing what happens when you start getting boats coming across – and they didn’t know.

They don't know, because they already have Iraqi Kurds living in limbo on a Sovereign Base.
From the Telegraph:
Michael Fallon, the Defence Secretary, said: “...........We are not going to allow this to become some new route of migration into Britain...........
They washed up in Akrotiri almost by accident there is evidence to suggest they were heading elsewhere in Greece. We are not going to allow a new route to open up."

You haven't read the article fully, Retrocop. Justin Huggler, its author, doesn't see the migrant crisis as any big deal. Note his reassuring words:
'Only two cities, Brunswick and Mannheim, said there should be a cap on the number of refugees sent to them.
Two-thirds of the mayors’ offices said there had been no disputes or problems in refugee shelters in their cities.
And all 30 said that relations between city residents and refugees were “good” or “very good”.'

Michael Fallon said,

Well they already have. It is a British Sovereign base.
The Iraqi Kurds have been there 16 years. That is hardly new. The latest arrivals were in the last few days. How many thousand migrants can a air base accomodate when word gets round you won't get sent back?

Nothing said about the increasing number of migrants still living on the Military base in Cyprus after almost 17 years?
Amusing to read this in the report.
/// France has promised to supply heated tents for migrants living at a sprawling migrant shanty town near Calais. ///
It was only yesterday that I was reading that the rabble in Slovenia had been setting fire to their tents, couldn't be more heated than that.

Seems like U turns is a European Governmental disease. Best the UK gets out.
The French were howling that it was the fault of the UK for the jungle and Sangatte. Our welfare system encouraged them to come here. Fair comment but they let them through their Southern border toget there and now they further encourage them to stay there by giving them all the comforts. The site should be bulldozed not heated tents.
