when the word [Times] appears where the green "updated" currently is, click the link and it'll take you directly to the timings page (it's not available yet). the only problem with this is that the operator (WCRC) is currently in court following a serious incident last year.......

you might try ringing Radio Lancashire help line on 01254583583 or go on to their web site as they had a full morning on Friday from Bury and various places along the route all about the Flying Scotsman and railways in which they mentioned the test run from Manchester to Carlisle. They are usually very helpful and if they don't know will try to find out and ring you back. Hope this is of help to you
Just read on The Westmorland Gazette website that the Flying Scotsman is scheduled to depart from Manchester Victoria Station at 6.30am.on Saturday 23rd January rest of timetable is still to be confirmed due to damage and flooding on part of the line. More of this item on the website if you are interested.

Urgent message for fourteen85. This has just appeared on The Westmorland Gazette web site.
THE Flying Scotsman's journey along the Settle to Carlisle line on Saturday has been cancelled due to mechanical problems. Two smaller engines will now haul carriages along the line instead.
Although the world's most famous steam locomotive came through a test run last weekend unscathed, there have been reports of brake issues meaning it has had to be withdraw from Saturday's plans.
