I know we have a few tennis fans here, so I was surprised not to find a thread about British Johanna Konta getting to the quarter finals of the Aus Open. She has a good chance of getting to the semis. How great is that? Come on, Jo!
I recall hearing on the radio that she'd achieved something not done since a couple of well known names had in the eighties. (My memory like a sieve again.) It that the situation or has she gone one round more now ?
I'm not sure O_G. I'm not in the UK for a while and coverage here doesn't focus on the Brits.
I would guess it was Jo Durie, in the 80s, who was the last British woman to get this far in a slam.
Ferrer has taken him to deuce ....again, but he's held and it goes to 5-2 ....he'll have to break Ferrer or wait to wrap it up when he serves next. Plus the rain hit Melb about 10 mins ago and the roof has been closed and poor Amelie is about to tear her hair out
