Drivers Bug Me!
25 Answers
I have about an hours drive to and from work every day, taking in country roads, A roads and a motorway. In all the years that I've been doing this journey, I am still dumbstruck as to how some people drive.
- Those that obviously think that using their indicators will somehow deplete their battery
- Those that speed down a feeder lane, then cut you up to get back into the main line of traffic
- Those people who overtake you, then cut you up. Even when there is a mile of road in front of you for them to get past you and then pull in safely
- Those drivers who do not understand queues, and go down the hard shoulder with hazard lights on, just to get ahead .
I'm just a normal driver. I don't hold people up, I'm not a middle lane hogger, and am not prone to road rage. I just think that many drivers have no idea of what the word "courtesy " means.
What bugs you when driving?

Also when you're waiting to come out of a side road, traffic is coming along from your right so you wait and then they turn into your road without indicating.
And people who don't acknowledge when you've let them come out into a queue of traffic, in front of you.

those who don't indicate really get on my goat.
Once told a woman to take her car to garage to get it checked out lol
(she was not amused for some reason)
Oh, and the other one, when it's sign-posted that a lane is closed, say, 3 miles ahead and folk start to line up and folk still whizz down that lane and expect to jump in ahead of those who have been patient

Mr C and I were driving home [at night] after visiting our grandchildren and saw a car driving with no lights. A number of motorists [including mr C] flashed him to alert him of his error. But it was a good 20 minutes or more before he put on his lights. How could he not know he didn't have them on?
Driving along a main road
From a distance you can see a car waiting at a side road to enter the main road .
He /She has plenty of time to pull out safely in front of you ; but oh no, they wait until you are a few metres from the side road , then they decide to pull out , causing you to brake sharply

More than I care to think about. Folk who need a bus-length between them and the vehicle in front when waiting at the traffic lights, or even a junction. Those who potter along in the right hand lane keeping me back whilst allowing others to undertake and cut in. Those who fail to chose the right lane on a roundabout. Those who won't give way when it is their turn to and lanes are merging. Those who insist on sticking to the ludicrousness low speed limits springing up everywhere in urban areas when they should be showing those idiots who inflict them that the public treat them with disdain and that they have no mandate to shove them everywhere (apart from where they should shove them). And that's just the ones off the top of my head.
People who think that a 30mph limit should mean you drive at 27mph on your speedo - which is probably about 25mph actual. I'm not advocating breaking the limit, just keeping up to it, where appropriate.
People who drive at 40mph in a 60mph limit on a clear road - but then drive straight through the 30mph section in a busy village at the same 40mph ...
Elephant racing HGVs - prepared to hold up dozens of cars for an interminable time, just so they can get to their destination 5 milliseconds earlier.
