Can anyone recommend any decent restaurants, things to do/see?
We'll do Chatsworth, Bolsover Castle and as recommended by New Judge, the Crich Tramway Museum.
Anything else within a 45 minute drive?
Thanks :)

A great pub/restaurant on the Chatsworth Estate. (I was the guest there of the guy who had helped the Duchess of Devonshire to redevelop it. He related how he'd had to hold her hand, to support her, as she stood on top of a pile of rubble to check that the view from the windows would be exactly as she wanted it to be):

Yes, 'chico's recommendation for the Devonshire Arms is good. Been there, v.good.
There is a nice Turkish in Chesterfield called the Ephasus (easy to find on TripAdvisor). If you want a Wetherspoons go to the Portland Arms rather than the Spa Lane Vaults. The former is a Wether Hotel and is quite nice (as Wethers go); the latter (on the hill up towards the Crooked Spire) is a dive and seems to be frequented by people who have recently been evicted on "Can't Pay We'll Take it Away".
Matlock Bath has "The Heights of Abraham" nearby with a cable car ride to the top. It also has Masson Mills (something to do with cotton milling and Richard Arkwright) and the Peak District Lead Mining Museum.
Y'all have a good time !!!
