I can't sleep without a fan on, it's a combination of the noise and also the air obviously . I've just gone to order a USB one and have then realised my iPad doesn't have a USB socket ! So it's going to have to be a plug in one, which is also light enough to put in a suitcase. Just big enough to put on a bedside cabinet.

A USB one might still be the best option. If you're travelling abroad you probably take a plug adapter with you anyway; if you get one that's also got USB sockets you can also plug your fan into it (and, of course, charge your USB-powered devices as well).

Your iPad charger has a USB socket. Just use that.
With an adaptor, of course.

Thanks Buenchicho.
Am sure I'm being thick but where's the USB port on the iPad- do you mean where the charger plugs in? I'd be using that to keep it charged
I'm not suggesting using your iPad at all. Simply plug the fan into the USB socket on a suitable mains adapter.

Neither is Zac suggesting using your iPad. He's simply pointing out that the charger unit for an iPad also has a USB power socket on it.
Pull the wire out of the plug.

Or contact your hotel. Many of them have fans.
