Evening all. Does anyone have recent experience of applying for the free eVisitor (subclass 651) via the Australlian government website?
The advised time is within one working day but it's been that and still no confirmation of visa being granted. There is notification of receipt of application but that's all so far.
Alternatively, can an ETA be applied for at the airport via the airline (Qatar)? There are online restrictions for applying for one of these since we were last over. There's a very short list and the UK ain't on it.
Thanks.

When did you apply for it?

Hi 237SJ, Friday, but as I type I'm realising that the time difference would mean that their offices would be closed for the weekend.
Well you have acknowledgement of your application so I would think you will hear something soon

Fingers crossed. Thanks. :)
I haven`t been to Australia as a tourist for quite a few years. I remember that the process was quick though. I would imagine that you will hear something within 48 hours or so.

All was sorted by the excellent staff of Qatar Airways and he's on his way. :)
My husband's visitors' visa was granted by return. My business visa (I was going to a conference) took almost exactly a week.
