Cruise

I fancy going on a cruise leaving from harwich not fussed where its going, any time, but i dont know were to look first there are so many to choose from, dont want posh with lots of dressing up and tips to pay, would like a good deal, can anyone give me a few pointers please.

I don't think you'll find many cruises going from Harwich. I've been on a few cruises and find the dressing up posh thing a bit intimidating. Also the tips, it can get a bit ridiculous.

The best 'cruise' I went on was with Hurtigruten who sail along the Norwegian fjords. Very informal, no entertainment, just read your book and enjoy the scenery, lots of stops if you want to get off for a while, but most stops are very short.
You'd have to get a short flight to Bergen to get there.

A friend of mine from Sweden used to get the ferry back and forth when he visited me.....I know its only a day or so, but ......!

Most cruise ships leave from Southampton. Can you get to Southampton?

I have been on 8 cruises and 3 of them have been from Harwich. I have also used Tilbury which is very good. I have found this company to be very good and it has a good selection of cruises including some from Harwich

looks as though there are seven this year but only one labelled "embark". You might be able to join those marked "transit"

I think Fred Olsen do dressing up but you can usually avoid it by not eating in the main restaurant on formal nights.
