How does my meter know when the off peak time starts? If we had a power cut, would the clock stop as well and therefore allow the off peak time to start later?
The last property I lived in had a mechanical timer switch, was meant to operate from midnight to 06:00 however due to power cuts (and me pulling the company fuse to do some work) resulted in the timings being delayed by around 6 hours – and me gaining cheaper electricity from 6am to midday.
The meter readers were only interested in the meter readings, not the setting of the timer – which was clearly visible.
