Did Switzerland provide sanctuary and training facilities to partisans fighting German occupation forces in World War II? It is known that Sweden, despite being officially neutral, provided sanctuary and training facilities to the Norwegian resistance movement fighting German occupation forces in World War II. These training facilities were disguised as “police training” facilities. I wonder if Switzerland was also involved in similar operations?

It shows that the Swiss were quite capable of shooting down Allied aircraft, as well as Axis forces, if they had to. There was a small faction within Switzerland that were on the side of Hitler, although it appears that they were not very successful.

The Swiss were also not very welcoming to refugees fleeing Hitler.

Sorry Brian that I can't be more helpful. From what I have read and studied over the years, my best guess is that you allude to didn't happen. I might be wrong though !

I think you should be asking this in a swiss answerbank - in German. There are German speaking cantons ( their own language of course ) and I am pretty sure they kept Switzerland neutral.

escaped prisoners of war were interned I think if they crossed the border. no I have checked - some were taken back to London
Switzerland wasnt high on the list of places to go if you escaped from a camp - usually it was to go to France and try to get onto an escape line ( which the French wanted to reserve for shot down fliers - a completely different species)
