Ice Hotel, Northern Sweden

Did anyone watch the television programme about this hotel at the weekend? Everything is made of ice, including plates, glasses – and beds - and bedroom temperature is minus 5 – although the bathrooms are comfortably heated. Rooms are charged at up to £1000 a night.

Since my husband is prone to arranging ‘surprise’ weekends away for us, I hastily informed him that this place would be my worst nightmare – but would you like to stay there?

I've watched the whole series with Giles and Monica and have to say that would be my least favourite.

I loved the giraffe hotel.

Two relatives went there a couple of years ago and hated it! Said they had never been so cold and couldn't sleep. Left after two days!

Absolutely no way. One of my worst nightmares, I have been in -10 and I hated it. Another of my nightmares is the sweltering heat of South East Asia or South America.
