I am trying to plan a trip to Spain next year (beginning of July) for around 10 people. I have never been before and was wondering if anyone could recommend a particular cheapish area for sun, surf, pubs & clubs etc.

Thank you in advance for your help & advice.

How old are you Forrey?

Anywhere on the Costa Del Sol in the South of Spain i.e. Malaga, Benalmadena

It can get a bit busy in high season so if you're travelling without children, early July or late June would be best.

Plenty of party places, cheap eats, beaches, sun, sand etc, You can't go far wrong as long as you're not looking for culture or peace and quiet, but it is a bit nicer than benidorm.

Barcelona also offers all of what your looking for but can be quite expensive

Courtney - Thanks for your response.  I am travelling without childrean and am looking for somewhere not so quiet!

AliFlump - I'm 29, turning 30 in July next year (reason for the trip to Spain).

OK, i was going to suggest Magaluf as it has loads of bars and pubs a nice beach and its a good place for single sex groups to go.  i know it sounds cheesy but i went a few years back and i loved it. Dont think it was too expensive either.

There are alot of groups of teenagers who go but you aint exactly old so dont think they would bother you

I've been to Magaluf (Majorca) unfortunately!!

I like party places, gettting drunk and partying all night and Majorca is a stunning island with plenty to do, but if you go to Magaluf on the island be prepeared for gangs of YOBS fighting and some of the scummiest people I have ever seen. I would NEVER go back to this particular resort.

Sorry Aliflump - no offence intended

ps I went when I turned 30

None taken Courtney, i went when i was 17 and thought it was nice but when i think about it i dont know if i'd like it now. I met my boyfriend there so we're gonna go back one day, that'l be fun!

Thanks again for your advice, I have been chatting with a few people here at work and they said that Costa Del Sol would be perfect.  I'm a little worried about the weather though (have been told that it may be too hot!).  Do you have any idea what temperature I can expect around the end of June/early July

The Costa del Sol is hot in June/ July. I was there this year in early June and the weather was comfortable on some days, on others it was v hot in the 30's
