I think it is Cartagena
I don't think you can take a ferry from Britain direct to Southern Spain.
Sorry . . t' internet is a joke her at the moment taking 5-10 mins to load pages and then freezing - what in this heat? No doubt my ISP will tell me that the problem is due to the wrong sort of heat. Please ignore my post - it was cut off before I completed all the information.
I was all excited that I could go to Murcia by ferry from just down the road. Was already to book. Shame.
Jenny....you could get a Ferry to Sandander, and then go by train to Murcia I suppose ?
The only direct ferries to Spain from the UK are those to Bilbao (from Portsmouth) and Santander (from Portsmouth and Plymouth) in the north-west of the country.

Given that Murcia is in the south-east, you're bound to have a long journey and it might even be that using a ferry to France would be a better idea.

Are you travelling by car or as a foot passenger? If we're to advise on the best ferry crossing, it's important that we know as:
(a) some ferry services don't accept foot passengers anyway; and
(b) there might be excellent road routes between a continental port and Murcia but lousy rail ones, or vice versa.
