If you open Google Earth and go to N 35 53 47, E 14 29 24.6 and then enter Street View you can see a church which looks (to me) identical to the picture.
Certainly changed since I was there.At that time there were only three hotels on the island one of which was at the bottom of Dingli Street ,and the other two were both in Valletta.
